Housing in Av. Carlos I
Residentials
Lisbon, PT - 2016
4650 m2
In Progress
This residential building emerges from a surgical rehabilitation intervention, over a construction from the 60's, in use decadence. The project was essentially imagined as a composition / relationship between three themes that refers to materiality (volume, color and texture), and the consequence of these conceptualizations to the image of the Lisbon city.
The main volume, the highest, is built from a persistent transparency of glass, covered by a delicate reticulated skin, made of white iron.
The lower body and the base are constituted as more solid and stony volumetric elements, of almost pure white, in search of a balance between complex and diverse parts. The white dominates over a metric of golden glass and frame, reflecting the fragments of city life.
Project developed with Arch. Nuno Montenegro.
