Offices in Oeiras Parque
Workplaces
Oeiras, PT - 2002
9000 m2
Completed
In opposition to the current tendency to build open-plan office buildings, with a "technological" box exterior appearance in which glazed surfaces predominate, the programmatic needs - multipurpose spaces and adaptable to future changes - were combined in this case of Mediterranean architecture, without compromising its modernity.
The existing irregular topography is solved with the creation of a basement in stone, which gives to the whole a mark of unity and monumentality, covering in this floor the accesses of people and vehicles. On the base, the volumes containing the work spaces are raised. These present themselves to the surrounding streets with facades marked by the transparency of a grid of balconies. The side facades, on the other hand, are essentially closed.
