The building is located in the historic zone of Lisbon in the Bairro Alto, and it is a Palace that was built in 1787, with the name of Palace of the Marqueses de Ficalho. The building occupies a considerable part of the block, and since its origin, the building has undergone a series of changes to its use, reflected in its current state with numerous changes in its facades and inside with overlapping partitions without any architectural value .
With the rehabilitation project, the challenge was based on the revaluation and recovery of the building, both inside and on its façades. In this sense, the intervention was based on a strategy of conservation and requalification of its urban image, and for that, the maintenance and recovery of its façades was carried out, with the placement of wooden frames and the repair of stone masonry and guards of metal. Inside, with the exception of the maintenance of the staircase core, the reconfiguration and alteration of almost all of its subdivision, with the distribution of its spaces, providing the building with 18 autonomous units, corresponding to 16 dwellings, typologies varying between T1 and T4 and 2 commercial units located on ground floor.
