Adult Day Care Center in Pozuelo
Others
Pozuelo, ES - 2005
900 m2
Completed
In 1992, a remodeling and enlargement took place in the Prados de Torrejón Day Center, where a new 2-storey building was built. 14 years later the Center accused of lack of space, in addition to the natural deterioration of the time and obsolescence of some facilities.
The strategy for recovery was to demolish the older construction and to expand the volume built in 1992. The whole was treated in a uniform way at the level of finishes, namely in the exterior, covered with prefabricated concrete panels, in which used a mold with vegetal motifs and a color of bamboo, like allusion to the green envelope. As opposed to the relatively enclosed aspect of the exterior, the interior spaces are illuminated by large gaps facing two courtyards, which may constitute as an extension of the interior. One of the courtyards descends to the lower floor, illuminating the multipurpose room there and its new vestibule.
